Feeling stressed or overwhelmed about online teaching & learning? Read this:
- Schools Are Closed. This is Our Chance to Reimagine Them by Angela Watson (of 40 Hour Teacher Workweek)
- Going the Distance: Online Learning Ideas from Creative Language Class (this site saved my life when I first started teaching!)
- 9 Ways Online Teaching Should be Different from Face-to-Face (from Cult of Pedagogy - also a life-saving blog)
Online tools that I use to support my Spanish students:
- Duolingo (amazing free app that language learners anywhere can use on any device! Personalized, gamified language learning!)
- Yabla (an online library of authentic videos with awesome built-in tools & activities - our school pays for a subscription)
- Quizlet (we use this for making flashcard sets, our school pays for a subscription)
- ¡Conjuguemos! (awesome site that has gamified conjugation practice!!!)
- Edpuzzle (platform for creating interactive video lessons - this tool is essential & our school pays for a subscription, see my tutorial!)
- Screencastify or Loom (extensions for the Chrome browser that allow users to record themselves and their screen at the same time, great for presentations! (See my tutorial for how to use Screencastify and Edpuzzle together to make your own interactive video lessons that grade themselves!)
Other tools I've seen that you might like:
- Prezi (great for making beautiful, interactive presentations)
- Rosetta Stone (classic language learning software, a bit pricey)
- Adiós Textbook (from the creators of Creative Language Class)
More resources to come!
