Preguntas esenciales:

How do I talk about homes and families?

Objetivos comunicativos:

  • I can identify family members.
  • I can tell how people are related.
  • I can describe my family.
  • I can identify parts of a house or apartment.
  • I can describe different kinds of homes.
  • I can ask someone’s age.
  • I can tell my own age.

Evaluación final:

Presentational Writing or Speaking: Your Spanish-speaking pen pal has recently learned in English class that homes in the USA are extremely diverse, and is curious to know what homes are like in the VRHS community.  You are excited to tell your penpal all about it using the new Spanish vocabulary you’ve learned.

You choose to either:
  1. Create a written album telling all about your (or a friend’s) family & home with detailed written descriptions and pictures (photos or drawings).
  2. Create a vlog-style video showing and describing all about your (or a friend’s) family & home.

Include:
  • Where the home is located (i.e. town, street, what’s nearby)
  • What the home looks like, different floors & rooms in the home
  • Family members who live here
  • Ages of family members
  • Activities people typically do at this home
  • Activities people have to do at this home (using the expression tener + que…)
  • Activities people are going to do (using the expression ir + a...)

Be sure to include any additional information that will help to show off all the new vocabulary you’ve learned.
