  • How do I talk about running common errands around town? 

Objetivos comunicativos:

By the end of this unit, you will be able to talk about running common errands such as going to the bank, going to the post office, getting a haircut, or going to the laundromat.

Objetivos gramaticales:

By the end of this unit, you will be able to talk about events that may or may not actually happen using the subjunctive mood in the present tense.

Evaluación final:

Presentational Speaking:  You have recently become good friends with the exchange student from Santiago, Chile.  He called you this afternoon to ask if you’d like to go hang out today, but you can’t -- you have too many errands to run.  You call him back and leave a voicemail to explain all the errands you have to run and why.  Be sure to explain what you hope will happen when you carry out each errand.

Suggestions to include:
  • going to the bank or ATM
  • going to get a haircut
  • going to the post office to send a letter
  • description of where these places are (in relation to one another)
  • hopes, desires, and opinions at each location using the present subjunctive

Be sure to include any other information that will tell how you feel about each errand.
